Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) julkisti 29. DICE Awards -gaalan ehdokkaat torstaina.

Palkintogaala järjestetään Las Vegasissa 13. helmikuuta kello 6.00 Suomen aikaa, ja se striimataan suorana verkossa.

Vuoden DICE Awards -peligaalan eniten ehdokkuuksia saivat Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 ja Ghost of Yōtei, joille molemmille myönnettiin kahdeksan ehdokkuutta. Arc Raiders ja Dispatch keräsivät kumpikin kuusi ehdokkuutta. Lisäksi Blue Prince sai viisi ja Death Stranding 2: On the Beach neljä ehdokkuutta.

Vuoden peli -kategoriassa ehdolla ovat Arc Raiders, Blue Prince, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Dispatch ja Ghost of Yōtei.

Ehdokkaat valitsivat AIASin vertaispaneelit, joiden kerrotaan koostuvan pelialan kokeneimmista ja ansioituneimmista asiantuntijoista. Voittajat ratkaistaan Akatemian yli 30 000 jäsenen luottamuksellisella äänestyksellä.

AIASin puheenjohtaja Meggan Scavio kiitti paneeleita ja finalisteja:

– Ensiksi haluan kiittää vertaispaneelejamme. Teidän omistautumisenne ja asiantuntemuksenne arviointiprosessissa sekä työnne vuoden 2025 parhaiden pelien valinnassa on korvaamattoman arvokasta.

– Onnittelut kaikille finalisteille. Jokainen näistä peleistä on tehnyt meihin vaikutuksen luovuudellaan, taiteellisella tasollaan ja teknisillä saavutuksillaan, ja odotamme innolla saavutustenne juhlistamista 29. DICE Awards -gaalassa.

Viime vuonna DICE Awards -vuoden peliksi valittiin Astro Bot, joka voitti yhteensä neljä palkintoa. Muita palkittuja olivat muun muassa Balatro, Helldivers 2 ja Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
